Biomass is defined as all organic matter. Plant photosynthesis is the basis for the formation of biomass, which is formed by the absorbtion of solar energy. The large quantities of biomass that nature produces annually can be used for our energy needs.
A study by DOBBERTIN, 2005, shows that in the last 40 years a 25 percent increase in domestic growth of spruce, beech and pine trees has been indicated. This means that the increase of biomass exceeds consumption.
